New Studio!

After about a week of working out of boxes I've finally got the new studio more or less unpacked. It's the first time in my life I'm working in a room that isn't obviously supposed to be a bedroom so I'm enjoying every minute of it. I decided to try my hand at cobbling together a panoramic pic of the whole thing, hopefully it's not too disorienting.

  1. Fantastic! I have yet to get a studio room to myself. We've got two kids and one on the way so every spare room is taken, haha.

  2. Nice. Not nearly enough posters of Hall n Oates on the walls though. 'Sup with that?

  3. Ben - Congrats man, I haven't crossed that bridge yet but I'm sure sacrifices will be made.

Steve - I know, I know, I can't find my Whitesnake posters either.

I'm waiting on a print of Bebop from Dave Rapoza's Ninja Turtle series. That one's going over the door.

  4. Awesome set up, man. I love how open it is. I'm rather envious of your hard wooden floors too. Also, nice old school landline phone ;)

  5. Chris, I have a question unrelated to your jawesome studio setup.

How much work do your original, transfered pencel sketches play in a finished piece? For instance, do your sketches show through the final layer of paint any at all, or do you completely paint out the sketch?

    Also, you rock!

  6. Eric - Thanks man, my favorite part is that the floors are rough and unfinished so I don't have to worry too much about damaging them. And yeah, that phone's not even hooked up, my wife just won't let me toss it :)
