Here's another one from the new Magic set. It's always a little bit strange to me working on pieces that don't contain any figures but it was fun to just trip out on clouds and atmosphere for a while.
I know what you mean about it being strange when there's no people or monsters in painting. It's a nice change though, to get to concentrate only the swirling clouds and architecture (which is always harder than it looks, at least in my experience). My favorite part is where the clouds of dust are getting kicked up in the middle. Great job!
Gorgeous. If there's one thing that just kills me is your color sense and it's pieces like this that really school me. There's no way I'd have been able to pull that off. Also, the way you're carrying the eye around a piece that could have been pretty stagnant is awesome. Well done, sir.
Love the atmosphere in all your work. Killer stuff Chris.
ReplyDeleteAs fan of the Izzet League, I love this art and I'm excited to use this card.
ReplyDeleteDamn! I love this, great perspective and colors, man. The color of that cyclone is awesome.
