Here's the last of my work for the upcoming Magic: the Gathering set. I used myself for reference so the hardest part about this one by far was beefing up my skinny, uncallused, artist hands.

Looks great Chris. You have been really stepping up your game with the last few pieces.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good looking, reasonably realistic sword design. Nice. :)
ReplyDeleteThis is one of my favorites by far. The scarred up face, the dagger. You can feel the misty air just looking at it.
ReplyDeleteso many nice things in this one Chris- the jacked up face - the great foggy atmosphere...the exposed wood in the handle....
ReplyDeleterocking it sir
Beautiful piece man. Your color choices are perfect. Bravo!!
ReplyDeletevery nice image!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap, this is beautiful, man. I love the hint of that glow where the light is hitting the blade.
ReplyDeleteDead on Chris! One of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. Now that you've painted yourself as an old, battle scared, king I think you should make sure you look exactly like this when you're old.
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone!
ReplyDeleteVinod - Considering how much this dude wound up looking like my dad I think it's basically an age-progression of me (if I was a badass, that is). Lets just hope I can avoid that scar :)
Don't be a wuss, Chris. Get that scar. Chicks dig scars.
ReplyDeleteDoes your Dad always handout swords or was this a special occasion?
ReplyDelete"Happy birthday son! Have a sword!"
